Michigan Panthers signs former Nevada quarterback Carson Strong

The Michigan Panthers (USFL) signed former Nevada quarterback Carson Strong on Sunday.

The 23-year-old from Vacaville, California, signed as an undrafted free agent with the Philadelphia Eagles. He played two preseason games completing one of four (25%) passes for six yards. After his release, he signed with the Arizona Cardinals practice squad but was released a week later. Later, he took part in an XFL minicamp hosted by Jordan Palmer but went undrafted.

Collegiately, Strong played four seasons at Nevada (2018-21) completing 852 of 1,252 (68.1%) passes for 9,368 yards, 74 touchdowns, 19 interceptions, and 139 carries for -305 yards in 32 games for the Wolf Pack.

In his senior season, Strong completed 366 of 523 (70%) passes for 4,175 yards, 36 touchdowns, eight interceptions, and 51 carries for -208 yards in 12 games.

He was named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year, All-Mountain West First Team, and Davey O’Brien Quarterback Class of 2021. He is a two-time Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year and two-time All-Mountain West First Team.
