DeMarkus Acy signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Wednesday

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed former Missouri defensive back DeMarkus Acy on Wednesday. The 24-year-old from Dallas, Texas, signed with the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent in 2020.

In addition, he spent time on the practice squad with the Seattle Seahawks and Washington Commanders before signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2021. Unfortunately, Acy tore his ACL in practice and missed the season.

Collegiately, Acy played four seasons at Missouri (2016-19) with 99 tackles, six tackles for loss, three interceptions for 73 yards, 23 pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 47 games for the Tigers.

In his final season, Acy had 15 tackles, five pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in ten games. In 2018, Acy was named Second Team All-SEC after making 30 tackles, one tackle for loss, three interceptions for 73 yards, and 13 pass breakups in 13 games.
