The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed former Southern Utah linebacker La’akea Kaho’ohanohano-Davis on Thursday. The 24-year-old from Kahului, Hawaii, went undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft and later was invited to attend the Seattle Seahawks rookie minicamp.
Collegiately, Kaho’ohanohano-Davis played three seasons at Southern Utah (2019-21) with 140 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, one interception for six yards, three pass breakups, and two forced fumbles in 15 games for the Thunderbirds.
In the Spring 2021 season, Kaho’ohanohano-Davis led the team with 57 tackles, nine tackles for loss, seven sacks, two pass breakups, and two forced fumbles in six games. He was named First Team All-American and a Big Sky All-Conference Team selection.
In his final season, Kaho’ohanohano-Davis had 73 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, one interception for six yards, and one pass breakup in nine games. He was named Second Team All-Big Sky Conference.
