The Philadelphia Eagles and offensive lineman Lane Johnson agreed to a one-year contract extension worth $33.445 including $30 million guaranteed. Johnson is now under contract through the 2026 season. The 32-year-old from Groveton, Texas, played 15 games in 2022. Johnson recently had successful surgery to repair a torn adductor in his groin.
Johnson will be entering his 11th season in Philadelphia. He’s played 127 games in ten seasons with the Eagles. The Eagles drafted Johnson in the first round (4th pick) in the 2013 NFL Draft. Johnson is a four-time Pro Bowl selection, Second Team All-Pro in 2021, a two-time First Team All-Pro (2017, 2022), and a Super Bowl champion (LII).
Collegiately, Johnson played one season at Kilgore College in 2008 as a quarterback with a 52.4% completing rate for 584 yards, seven touchdowns, and three interceptions.
Then, he transferred to Oklahoma and played tight end and defensive end in 2010 before becoming an offensive lineman in 2011. He played right tackle and left tackle and was named a Third Team All-American by CBSSports.com, All-Big 12 Second Team, and Academic All-Big 12 First Team.
