The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed former Delta State defensive back Julius Faulk on Friday. The 24-year-old from Jayess, Mississippi, was drafted by the D.C. Defenders in the ninth round (68th pick) in the 2022 XFL Draft. In addition, he attended the Cleveland Browns rookie minicamp in 2022.

 Collegiately, Faulk played two seasons at Southwest Mississippi State (2017-18) catching eight passes for 103 yards, and two touchdowns in 2017 before converting to a defensive back in 2018.

Then, he transferred to Delta State (2019, 2021) with 68 tackles, five tackles for loss, ten interceptions for 131 yards, 29 pass breakups, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and one kick return for 15 yards in 21 games for the Statesmen.

In his final season, Faulk made 31 tackles, five tackles for loss, one interception, seven pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 11 games.

In 2019, Faulk led the Gulf South Conference and NCAA Division II with a career-high nine interceptions en route to earning First-Team All-GSC. In addition, Faulk was named AFCA First Team All-American in 2019.
