The Calgary Stampeders signed former Mississippi Valley State linebacker Ronnie Thomas on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old from Jackson, Mississippi, had 58 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks, two pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 11 games for the Delta Devils. His 10.5 sacks set the school’s single-season record for sacks as a linebacker and earned First Team All-Southwestern Athletic Conference Honors.

Thomas played three seasons at Mississippi Valley State (2020-22) with 81 tackles, 27 tackles for loss, 18 sacks, three pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 24 games.

Before Mississippi Valley State, Thomas played two seasons at East Central Community College (2018-19) with 47 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, and one forced fumble in 14 games for the Warriors.
