The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed former Emporia State linebacker Gee Stanley on Wednesday. The 25-year-old from Miami, Florida, was set to play for the Arkansas Attack (MLFB) in the 2022 season but it was canceled.
Collegiately, Stanley played one season at Robert Morris in 2016 with 59 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, one pass breakup, three forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries in 11 games for the Colonials. He was named Northeast Conference Defensive Rookie of the Year and HERO Sports FCS Freshman All-American.
Then, Stanley transferred to Coffeyville Community College (Kansas) in 2018 with 42 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, and two sacks in ten games for the Red Ravens.
Afterward, Stanley transferred to Emporia State (2019, 2021) with 132 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, two interceptions, six pass breakups, four forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries in 23 games for the Hornets.
In his final season, Stanley had 67 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, three pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 12 games.
Stanley was a three-star prospect by 247sports.com and a two-star prospect by Rivals at Coral Gables High School in Miami, Florida. He was a Top 100 outside linebacker recruit in the 2016 class. He was named Florida Class 8A all-state third team after making 104 tackles in his senior season.
