Reigning NTT IndyCar Series champion Will Power announced in a video on Friday that he has signed a multiyear contract extension with Team Penske.
“I’m so fortunate to have had Verizon on the car for more than a decade and for those guys to re-up and (for me) to re-up with Penske, as well,” Power said. “I always look back, and I say it often: I’m very fortunate. It’s where you want to be as a driver, in a team where you’re given a car that can win week in and week out.”
The 42-year-old from Toowoomba, Queensland, finished seventh at the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg last month. Power is in his sixteenth season in IndyCar. In 2022, Power broke Mario Andretti’s record for a number of pole wins (68).
Furthermore, he has 41 wins, including the 2018 Indianapolis 500, 91 top-five, and 123 top-ten series in 239 career races. Will Power is a two-time IndyCar champion in 2014 and 2022. In addition, Power has also competed in six Repco Supercars races with two podium finishes.
The NTT IndyCar Series next race is the PPG 375 on Sunday, April 2nd from Texas Motor Speedway at 12 pm on NBC.
