The USFL concluded the weekend on Sunday night at Protective Stadium between the New Orleans Breakers (1-0) and the new-look Pittsburgh Maulers (0-1).

New Orleans quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson completed 23 of 41 passes (56.1%) for 302 yards, one touchdown, and four carries for 16 yards. Running back Anthony Jones had 19 carries for 46 yards, six catches for 29 yards, and one touchdown.

Tight End Sage Surratt led the receivers with five catches for 85 yards. New Orleans’s defense allowed 156 yards, with 47 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, seven pass breakups, and one forced fumble.

Pittsburgh quarterback James Morgan completed 6 of 15 passes (40%) for 58 yards, and one carry for five yards. Running back Duane Gary had three carries for 34 yards, and Tre Walker led the receivers with three catches for 42 yards. Pittsburgh’s defense allowed 332 yards, with 62 tackles, four tackles for loss, four sacks, one forced fumble, and one touchdown.
