The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed former Dayton defensive back Brandon Easterling on Wednesday. Brandon Easterling is six foot and weighs 206 pounds.
The 24-year-old from Fairborn, Ohio, was recently with the Houston Roughnecks (XFL). The Roughnecks drafted Easterling in the eighth round (60th pick) of the 2022 XFL Draft. Before Houston, Easterling attended the New York Giants rookie minicamp as an undrafted free agent.
Collegiately, Easterling played five seasons at Dayton (2017-21) with 272 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, one sack, nine interceptions for 196 yards, one touchdown, 20 pass breakups, three forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and nine punt returns for 103 yards in 39 games for the Flyers.
In his final season, Easterling was a co-captain. He had 92 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, six pass breakups, and two forced fumbles in ten games in 2021. He was named All-Pioneer Football League, a two-time Chief Toscani Hitter Award, and a finalist for FCS Stats’ Buck Buchanan Award, which goes annually to the top defensive player in FCS football.
