The B.C. Lions signed former Edmonton Elks defensive back DaQuaylyn Thomas and former Louisiana Tech defensive back Jaiden Cole on Thursday.
DaQuaylyn Thomas is five foot ten and weighs 205 pounds. The 25-year-old from Forth Worth, Texas, signed with the Edmonton Elks last season but was released during training camp.
Collegiately, Thomas played two seasons at Tyler Community College (2016-17) with 138 tackles (101 solo, 37 assists), two sacks, and one touchdown in 18 games for the Apache.
Then, he transferred to Southern Mississippi (2018-19) with 92 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, three interceptions for 55 yards, one touchdown, six pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 24 games for the Golden Eagles.
In his final season, Thomas had 76 tackles (48 solo, 28 assists), 15 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, three interceptions for 55 yards, one touchdown, and four pass breakups in 13 games.
Jaiden Cole is six foot one and weighs 200 pounds. The 24-year-old from Monroe, Louisiana, wrapped up his collegiate career with 51 tackles (26 solo, 25 assists), four tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, one interception for 12 yards, four pass breakups, and one forced fumble in nine games for the Bulldogs in 2022.
Cole played six seasons at Louisiana Tech (2017-22) with 168 tackles (96 solo, 72 assists), 11 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, three interceptions for 69 yards, seven pass breakups, and three forced fumbles in 53 games for the Bulldogs. He was named to the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll in 2018.
