The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed former Oklahoma State linebacker Kolby Harvell-Peel on Thursday. Harvell-Peel is six foot and weighs 222 pounds.
The 23-year-old from College Station, Texas, signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent and attended their rookie minicamp. However, he injured his hamstring and was released by the Texans on June 9th after both parties reached an injury settlement.
Collegiately, Harvell-Peel played four seasons at Oklahoma State (2018-21) with 237 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, four sacks, ten interceptions for 72 yards, 34 pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries in 49 games for the Cowboys.
In his final season, Harvell-Peel had 67 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, one sack, led the Cowboys with three interceptions for 21 yards, six pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 14 games. He was named All-America Third Team by the Associated Press, and First Team All-Big 12 in 2021.
He is a two-time First Team All-Big 12, OSU Bob Fenimore Award (Team MVP) in 2019, and Second Team All-Big 12 in 2020.
