The Calgary Stampeders signed former Winnipeg Blue Bombers defensive back Nick Taylor on Friday. Nick Taylor is five foot nine and weighs 181 pounds.
The 35-year-old from Hollywood, Florida, made 46 tackles (44 DT, 2 ST), and three interceptions in 13 games for Winnipeg in 2022. Taylor played three seasons in Winnipeg with 82 tackles (80 DT, 2 ST), four interceptions, and one touchdown in 29 games. Taylor helped the Blue Bombers win back-to-back Grey Cup championships.
Nick Taylor played three seasons at Florida International (2007-09). However, he never played college football. Instead, he played basketball as a point guard averaging 17.6 minutes per game, and 120 points in his career. After college, Taylor signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent. Taylor suffered a shoulder injury and was released.
In 2015, Taylor played for the Orlando Predators in the Arena Football League. Making 87 tackles, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, four interceptions, and one touchdown.
In 2016, Taylor signed with the Ottawa Redblacks and played two seasons with 63 tackles (62 DT, 1 ST), one forced fumble, one interception, and one touchdown in 17 games.
In 2018, Taylor signed with the Edmonton Eskimos and played two seasons with 48 tackles (46 DT, 2 ST), one sack, and one forced fumble in 18 games. After the 2018 season, Taylor signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
