The B.C. Lions signed former Southern University kicker Cesar Barajas on Wednesday. Cesar Barajas is six foot one and weighs 215 pounds.
The 24-year-old from Arcadia, Florida, played one season at Louisiana Tech in the Fall of 2021 with 51 kickoffs for 3,111 yards (61%), 12 touchbacks, attempted two field goals, and one carry for five yards.
In addition, Barajas made 54 punts for 2,242 yards (41.5%), two touchbacks, 19 fair catches, 25 from inside the 20-yard line, and six punts for 50-plus yards in 12 games for the Bulldogs.
His longest punt went for 71 yards against UTEP. He was named to the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll in the Fall of 2021.
Before Louisiana Tech, Barajas played three seasons at Southern University (2019-21). He had 129 kickoffs for 7,197 yards, with 26 touchbacks, and made 12 of 15 field goals (80%).
His longest field goal went for 49 yards in 2021, five tackles, 16 punts for 679 yards, one touchback, four fair catches, two from inside the 20-yard line, and two from 50-plus yards in 23 games for the Jaguars.
In his final season at Southern University, Barajas made four field goals, with his longest for 49 yards. Barajas punted the ball 16 times for 679 yards, with his longest punt for 58 yards, one touchback, four fair catches, two from inside the 20-yard line, two for 50-plus yards, 30 kickoffs for 1,551 yards, four touchbacks, and 24 extra points made in five games.
