Edmonton Elks sign former Indiana State DB Dwayne Thompson II

The Edmonton Elks signed former Indiana State defensive back Dwayne Thompson II on Wednesday. Thompson II is six foot one and weighs 190 pounds.

The 22-year-old from Farmington Hills, Michigan, played one season at Valdosta State in 2022 with 15 tackles in four games for the Blazers.

Before Valdosta State, Thompson II played four seasons at Indiana State (2018-21) with 49 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, one interception, one fumble recovery, and nine pass breakups in 27 games for the Sycamores.  

In his final season in 2021, Thompson II had 20 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, one interception, four pass breakups, three quarterback hits, and one fumble recovery in ten games.
