Philadelphia Eagles make moves on the last day of the NFL Draft

The Philadelphia Eagles were busy on the last day of the 2023 NFL Draft from Kansas City, Missouri. The Eagles traded for a running back and drafted three players.

First, the Eagles traded a 2023 seventh-round pick (219) and a 2025 fourth-round pick to the Detroit Lions for running back D’Andre Swift and a 2023 seventh-round pick (249). D’Andre Swift is five foot nine and weighs 208 pounds.

The 24-year-old from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, had 99 carries for 542 yards, five touchdowns, 48 catches for 389 yards, and three touchdowns in 14 games for the Lions.

In week one against the Eagles, Swift had 15 carries for 144 yards, one touchdown, and three catches for 31 yards. In three seasons, Swift has 364 carries for 1,680 yards, 18 touchdowns, 156 catches for 1,198 yards, and seven touchdowns in 40 games.

Collegiately, Swift played three seasons at Georgia (2017-19) with 440 carries for 2,885 yards, 20 touchdowns, 73 catches for 666 yards, and five touchdowns in 43 games for the Bulldogs. He was named Second Team All-SEC in 2018 and First Team All-SEC in 2019.

In the fourth round, the Eagles drafted Georgia defensive back Kelee Ringo. Ringo is six foot two and weighs 205 pounds. The 20-year-old from Tacoma, Washington, had a production score of 77 and a 78 in athleticism for a total of 81. In addition, he ran a 4.36 in the 40-yard dash, a 1.54 10-yard split, a 33.5 vertical jump, and a broad jump of 10’ 2”.

Collegiately, Ringo played two seasons at Georgia (2021-22) with 76 tackles, three tackles for loss, one sack, four interceptions for 124 yards, one touchdown, 19 pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 30 games for the Bulldogs. He missed the 2020 season due to recovering from a knee injury.

In his final season, Ringo had 42 tackles, two tackles for loss, two interceptions for 45 yards, nine pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 15 games. He was named Second Team All-SEC in 2022 and is a two-time CFP National Champion.

In the sixth round, the Eagles selected Stanford quarterback Tanner McKee. McKee is six foot six and weighs 230 pounds. The 23-year-old from Irvine, California, scored 61 in production and 67 in athleticism for a total of 68. In addition, he has a 33” vertical jump, 9’ 6” broad jump, 7.22 in the 3-cone drill, and 4.41 in the 20-yard shuffle.

Collegiately, McKee played three seasons at Stanford (2020-22) completing 473 of 748 passes (63%) for 5,336 yards, 28 touchdowns, 15 interceptions, 135 carries for -86 yards, and six touchdowns in 23 games for the Cardinal. He was named the Irving S. Zeimer MVP in 2021.

In his final season, McKee completed 264 of 426 passes (62%) for 2,947 yards, 13 touchdowns, eight interceptions, 74 carries for -90 yards, and two touchdowns in 12 games.

Finally, the Eagles made their final pick in the seventh round by selecting Texas defensive tackle Moro Ojomo. Moro Ojomo is six foot three and weighs 284 pounds.

The 21-year-old from Lagos, Nigeria, but was raised in Katy, Texas, had a production score of 62 and 79 in athleticism for a total score of 70. He ran a 5.04 in the 40-yard dash, 1.77 in the 10-yard split, a 33” vertical jump, a 9’ 4” broad jump, and 29 bench presses.

Collegiately, Ojomo played five seasons at Texas (2018-22) with 95 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, two pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 50 games for the Longhorns. In his final season, Ojomo made 32 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, and three sacks in 12 games.

During the draft, the Eagles released defensive tackle Marvin Wilson. Marvin Wilson is six foot four and weighs 303 pounds. The 24-year-old from Houston, Texas, made four tackles in one game for the Eagles in 2022 against the Dallas Cowboys.

Wilson played two games in two seasons in Philadelphia with seven tackles. Before Philadelphia, Wilson signed with the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent.

Collegiately, Wilson played four seasons at Florida State (2017-20) with 110 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 39 games, of which 19 were starts for the Seminoles. He was named First Team All-ACC in 2019 and Second Team All-ACC in 2020.
