The Toronto Argonauts signed former McNeese State running back Deonta McMahon on Wednesday. Deonta McMahon is five foot nine and weighs 185 pounds.
The 23-year-old from Frostproof, Florida, had 191 carries for 1,408 yards, 12 touchdowns, 22 catches for 210 yards, two touchdowns, 13 kick returns for 272 yards, completed one pass for 33 yards, and one touchdown in 11 games for the Cowboys. He was named First-Team All-Conference.
McMahon played three seasons at McNeese State (2020-22) with 337 carries for 2,155 yards, 21 touchdowns, 57 catches for 519 yards, two touchdowns, 13 kick returns for 272 yards, one pass for 33 yards, and one touchdown.
He was named All-Southland Conference 2nd Team in 2021 after carrying the ball 109 times for 558 yards, eight touchdowns, and 27 catches for 232 yards.
Before McNeese State, McMahon played two seasons at Butte College (2018-19) with 236 carries for 1,507 yards, 19 touchdowns, 18 catches for 210 yards, four kick returns for 111 yards, and one punt return for five yards in 17 games for the Road Runners.
He was named All-American in his freshman year with 166 carries for 1,124 yards, 15 touchdowns, and ten catches for 95 yards in 11 games.
