Ottawa Redblacks agree to terms with four 2023 Draft picks

The Ottawa Redblacks signed wide receiver Daniel Oladejo (17th overall), defensive back Lucas Cormier (10th overall), and linebackers Josh White (25th overall) and James Peters (12th overall).

Daniel Oladejo is five foot ten and weighs 192 pounds. The 23-year-old from Ottawa, Ontario, was drafted by the Redblacks in the second round (17th pick) of the 2023 CFL Draft.

In his senior year, Oladejo was named OUA Second Team All-Star after making 32 catches for 399 yards, and three touchdowns in eight games for the Gee-Gees. In addition, he was named Gee-Gees Team Award for Outstanding Offensive Player and the President’s Award.

Oladejo played five seasons at the University of Ottawa (2017-22) with 63 catches for 781 yards, six touchdowns, and six kick returns for 112 yards.

Lucas Cormier is six foot two and weighs 210 pounds. The 22-year-old from Sackville, New Brunswick, was drafted by the Redblacks in the second round (10th pick) of the 2023 CFL Draft. In his senior season, Cormier made 23 tackles (17 solo, 12 assists), four tackles for loss, three interceptions, and five pass breakups in seven games for the Mounties.

Cormier played four seasons at Mount Allison (2019-22) with 74.5 tackles (59 solo, 31 assists), six tackles for loss, nine interceptions for 57 yards, eight pass breakups, one forced fumble, and three fumble recoveries in 21 games.

Josh White is six foot two and weighs 190 pounds. The 23-year-old from Regina, Saskatchewan, was drafted by the Redblacks in the third round (25th pick) of the 2023 CFL Draft. In his senior season, White made 52 tackles (27 solo, 25 assists), 6.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, and one pass breakup in nine games for the Rams.

White played four seasons at the University of Regina (2018-22) with 150 tackles (88 solo, 62 assists), 21 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, three pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 31 games.

James Peters is five foot ten and weighs 220 pounds. The 24-year-old from Ottawa, Ontario, was drafted by the Redblacks in the second round (12th pick) of the 2023 CFL Draft.

In his senior year, Peters made 58 tackles (44 solo, 28 assists), three tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, and one pass breakup in eight games for the Gee-Gees in 2022. He was named First Team U SPORTS All-Canadian, First Team OUA All-Star, and won the Gee-Gees Team Award for Defensive MVP in 2022.

Peters played five seasons at the University of Ottawa (2017-22) with 122.5 tackles (96 solo, 53 assists), 5.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one pass breakup in 30 games.
