Calgary Stampeders move wide receiver Brendan Langley to the retired list

The Calgary Stampeders placed wide receiver Brendan Langley on the retired list on Monday. Brendan Langley is six foot one and weighs 179 pounds.

The 28-year-old from Marietta, Georgia, signed with the Stampeders as a free agent in 2022 but never played a game due to travel issues.

Before Calgary, Langley was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the third round (101st pick) in the 2017 NFL Draft. He played two seasons with six tackles and ten kick returns for 244 yards in 16 games. In addition, Langley was on the Seattle Seahawks practice squad in 2020.

Collegiately, Langley played two seasons at Georgia (2013-14) with 16 tackles (11 solo, 5 assists) in 14 games for the Bulldogs. Then, he transferred to Lamar University (2015-16) with 46 tackles (30 solo, 16 assists), two tackles for loss, six interceptions for 49 yards, 18 pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.

In addition, he had one carry for 55 yards, one touchdown, three kick returns for 73 yards, 20 punt returns for 253 yards, and two touchdowns in 15 games for the Cardinals. He was named First-Team All-Southland Conference selection as a defensive back and punt return specialist in 2016.
