The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed former Tulane defensive back Lummie Young IV and Washington kicker Peyton Henry on Wednesday.
Lummie Young IV is six foot one and weighs 200 pounds. The 23-year-old from Anderson, South Carolina, played one season at Tulane in 2022 with 47 tackles (32 solo, 15 assists), 0.5 tackle for loss, one interception for six yards, and three pass breakups in 13 games for the Green Wave.
Before Tulane, Young played four seasons at Duke University (2018-21) with 144 tackles (31 solo, 33 assists), 5.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, two interceptions for two yards, ten pass breakups, and three forced fumbles in 34 games for the Blue Devils.
Peyton Henry is five foot eleven and weighs 197 pounds. The 23-year-old from Danville, California, was invited to the New York Giants to their rookie mini-camp. In his final season, Henry converted 19 of 22 field goals (86%) with a long of 50 yards and made 58 extra points for a total of 115 points. In addition, he had eight kickoffs for 489 yards (61.1 AVG) with two touchbacks in 13 games for the Huskies in 2022. He was named All-Pac-12 Second Team.
Henry played five seasons at the University of Washington (2018-22) converting 71 of 88 field goals (80%) with a long of 50 yards, 189 extra points made for 402 points. In addition, he had 114 kickoffs for 6,829 yards (59.9 AVG), 49 touchbacks, and one kick out of bounds in 56 games. He is a two-time All-Pack-12 Second Team.
