The B.C. Lions added running back Taquan Mizzell from the suspended list to the active roster on Thursday. He is one of five players competing in training camp.

Taquan Mizzell is five foot ten and weighs 185 pounds. The 29-year-old from Virginia Beach, Virginia, signed with the Lions in 2022 but was placed on the suspended list. Before the Lions, Mizzell spent two seasons on the New York Giants on the practice squad. Before the Giants, Mizzell tried out for the Baltimore Ravens, Chicago Bears, and New Orleans Saints.

Collegiately, Mizzell played four seasons at Virginia (2013-16) with 460 carries for 2,075 yards, 12 touchdowns, 195 catches for 1,560 yards, and seven touchdowns in 46 games for the Cavaliers. He is the only player in ACC history with 1,500+ career rushing yards and 1,500+ receiving yards. In addition, Mizzell ranked 16th in all-time rushing (2,075) and 12th in receiving yards (1,560) in school history.
