The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed former California punter Jamieson Sheahan on Sunday. Jamieson Sheahan is six foot and weighs 205 pounds.

The 25-year-old from Bendigo, Australia, was drafted in the first round (8th pick) of the 2023 CFL Global Draft. In his final season with the Bears in 2022, Sheahan punted the ball 65 times for 2,934 yards (43.5 AVG), five touchbacks, 21 fair catches, 21 from inside the 20-yard line, and 20 for 50-plus yards in 12 games. He was named Second Team All-Pac 12 in 2022.

Sheahan played three seasons at the University of California (2020-22) with 141 punts for 6,135 yards (43.5 AVG), seven touchbacks, 59 fair catches, 34 from inside the 20-yard line, 28 from 50-plus yards, and one blocked punt in 28 games.

Before California, Sheahan reached the second-highest level of Australian Rules Football as a member of the Essendon Victorian Football League squad and was selected as the team’s top first-year player in 2018. In addition, he played for Strathfieldsave and Bendigo, and a local senior football championship in the Bendigo Football League in 2017.
