The Calgary Stampeders made several moves on Sunday including releasing defensive back Jacob Biggs, defensive back Bailey Devine-Scott, and offensive lineman Keanu Ebanks. In addition, they placed Joshua Coker and wide receiver Jalen Philpot and placed quarterback Chase Litton on the suspended list.
Jacob Biggs is six foot and weighs 175 pounds. The 24-year-old from Calgary, Alberta, made 28 tackles (22 solo, 12 assists) and five pass breakups in six games for the Dinos.
Biggs played four seasons at the University of Calgary (2018-19, 2021-22) with 98 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, one sack, three interceptions for 44 yards, one touchdown, 25 pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 32 games.
Bailey Devine-Scott is five foot eleven and weighs 203 pounds. The 23-year-old from Wattle Grove, Australia, had four tackles in three games for the Stampeders this year. Calgary drafted Devine-Scott in the third round (25th pick) in the 2022 CFL Global Draft.
Collegiately, Devine-Scott played three seasons at Western New England University (2018-19, 2021) with 133 tackles, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, two interceptions, 16 pass breakups, and one block on special teams in 24 games.
Keanu Ebanks is six foot six and weighs 308 pounds. The 28-year-old from Leeds, England, was on the Stampeders’ practice squad in 2022. Ebanks signed with the Stampeders on March 10th, 2022.
Ebanks played for the Hamburg Sea Devils (European League of Football) in 2021, helping the Sea Devils reach the ELF Championship game against the Frankfort Galaxy, and was named to the EFL’s all-star team.
Joshua Coker is six foot two and weighs 336 pounds. The 25-year-old from Chicago, Illinois, played two games for the Stampeders playing right tackle in 2022. He signed with the Stampeders as a free agent in September 2021.
Collegiately, Coker played 25 games in four seasons at Rhodes College (2015-18) playing right tackle for the Lynx. He earned American Football Coaches Association Division III Coaches’ All-American honors as well as first-team all-Southern Athletic Association recognition in each of his final two seasons.
In addition, he became the first Lynx player in program history to be named all-American in consecutive years. In 2018, he was part of an offensive line that helped the Lynx to rush for an average of 176.3 yards per game.
Jalen Philpot is six foot and weighs 195 pounds. The 22-year-old from Delta, British Columbia, made 23 catches for 317 yards, three touchdowns, ten carries for 102 yards, and one punt return for 24 yards in 14 games for the Stampeders in 2022. In March, Philpot suffered a hamstring injury in a training session that required surgery.
Collegiately, Philpot played three seasons at the University of Calgary (2018-19, 2021) with 140 catches for 2,374 yards, 14 touchdowns, 14 carries for 101 yards, nine kick returns for 311 yards, one touchdown, and 19 punt returns for 211 yards in 28 games for the Dinos. He helped the Dinos win the 2019 Vanier Cup and is a two-time First Team All-Canadian.
Chase Litton is six foot five and weighs 230 pounds. The 27-year-old from Winter Park, Florida, was with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2022. Last year, he attended the Ottawa Redblacks training camp. In 2020, he spent time in the XFL with the Seattle Dragons and Tampa Bay Vipers.
He signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent and later signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2019. Collegiately, Litton played three seasons at Marshall (2015-17) with 728 of 1,198 completions for 8,335 yards, 72 touchdowns, and 31 interceptions.
