The Hamilton Tiger-Cats placed defensive lineman Josh Hyer on the retired list on Monday. Hyer was drafted by the Ticats in the eighth round (64th pick) of the 2023 CFL Draft.

Josh Hyer is six foot four and weighs 258 pounds. The 23-year-old from Vernon, British Columbia, signed with the Ticats on May 9th.  

Collegiately, Hyer played five seasons at the University of Calgary (2017-22) with 49 tackles (42 solo, 18 assists), 14 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, three pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 32 games for the Dinos. He helped the Dinos win the 2019 Vanier Cup.
