Toronto Argonauts

The Toronto Argonauts announced on Monday they have placed wide receiver Dontrelle Inman on the retired list. Inman signed with the Argonauts on March 1st.

Dontrelle Inman is six foot three and weighs 205 pounds. The 34-year-old from Charleston, South Carolina, last played in 2020 with the Washington Football Team (now Commanders) with 18 catches for 163 yards and two touchdowns in ten games.

Inman signed with the Toronto Argonauts in 2012 as a free agent. In his rookie year, he caught 50 passes for 803 yards, and five touchdowns in 15 games. In the 100th Grey Cup, Inman caught three passes for 43 yards, and one touchdown to help the Argonauts win the Grey Cup over the Calgary Stampeders by the final score of 35-22.

Inman played one more season in Toronto in 2013 with 50 catches for 739 yards and six touchdowns in 13 games. Toronto released Inman so he could explore opportunities in the NFL.

Shortly after his release, Inman signed with the San Diego Chargers. He played four and half seasons for the Chargers with 107 catches for 1,463 yards, and seven touchdowns in 45 games, of which 24 were starts. In 2017, Inman was traded to the Chicago Bears and had 23 catches for 334 yards and one touchdown in eight games.

After Chicago, Inman signed with the Indianapolis Colts in 2019. He played a season and a half with 32 catches for 353 yards, and three touchdowns before the Colts traded him to the Los Angeles Chargers. Inman caught eight passes for 132 yards in four games.

Unfortunately, Inman suffered a quad injury and the Chargers released him before he returned to the Indianapolis Colts but did not play a game. On August 4th, 2020, Inman signed with the Washington Football Team.

Collegiately, Inman played four seasons at the University of Virginia (2007-2010) with 78 catches for 1,098 yards and three touchdowns in 46 games for the Cavaliers.
