The Ottawa Redblacks released veteran linebacker Patrick Levels on Tuesday. Patrick Levels is five foot eleven and weighs 187 pounds. The 28-year-old from Dallas, Texas, made 59 tackles (58 DT, 1 ST), four sacks, and one forced fumble in 13 games with the Redblacks in 2022.
Levels signed with the Redblacks as a free agent in 2022. Before Ottawa, Levels played two seasons with the Calgary Stampeders (2017-18) with 50 tackles (36 DT, 14 ST) and one interception in 25 games, winning the Grey Cup in 2018.
Then, Levels signed with the Montreal Alouettes in 2019 with 86 tackles, five sacks, and two forced fumbles in 18 games on his way to being named a CFL East All-Star.
In 2020, Levels signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats but the season was canceled due to the pandemic and he returned to the Alouettes in 2021. In the 2021 season, Levels made 42 tackles, three sacks, one interception, and one touchdown in 12 games.
Collegiately, Levels played four seasons at Baylor (2013-16) with 91 tackles (62 solo, 29 assists), 14 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, two pass breakups, four forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries, six kick returns for 127 yards, and one punt return for five yards in 51 games for the Bears. He was named Second All-Big 12 in 2016.
