The Toronto Argonauts signed former Wake Forest defensive lineman Tyler Williams on Tuesday. Tyler Williams is six foot two and weighs 295 pounds.
The 24-year-old from West Palm Beach, Florida, made 26 tackles (14 solo, 12 assists), six tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, one pass breakup, and one blocked kick in 13 games for the Demon Decans. Williams helped Wake Forest win back-to-back bowl games with a victory in the 2022 Gasparilla Bowl over Missouri. He had a least one tackle in 12 of 13 games, including eight games of two or more tackles.
Williams played five seasons at Wake Forest (2018-22) with 65 tackles (36 solo, 29 assists), 15 tackles for loss, five sacks, one pass breakup, one forced fumble, and one blocked kick in 44 games. In 2021, Williams made two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist) and one tackle for loss as Wake Forest had a historic 11-win season en route to the ACC Atlantic Division and Gator Bowl titles.
