Edmonton Elks bring back WR Raphael Leonard

The Edmonton Elks signed wide receiver Raphael Leonard on Saturday. To make room for Leonard, the Elks released wide receiver Cam Sullivan-Brown.

Raphael Leonard is six foot two and weighs 190 pounds. The 25-year-old from Starkville, Mississippi, was released by the Elks on Wednesday as part of training camp cuts. In 2022, Leonard played five games for Edmonton this year as a wide receiver and two games as a defensive back.

Collegiately, Leonard played two seasons at Southern Illinois (2017-18) with 91 catches for 1,377 yards and 12 touchdowns. In 2016, caught 23 passes for 360 yards and seven touchdowns at East Mississippi Community College and caught one pass for eight yards for Florida Atlantic in 2015.

Cam Sullivan-Brown is six foot and weighs 193 pounds. The 24-year-old from Bowie, Maryland, played four seasons at Penn State (2018-21) with 17 catches for 163 yards in 37 games for the Nittany Lions. In his final season, he caught four passes for 44 yards in 13 games.

Then, Sullivan-Brown transferred to the University of Massachusetts in 2022 with 27 catches for 373 yards, two touchdowns, and one kick return for 14 yards in ten games for the Minutemen. He earned Pro Football Network All-Independent team honors as a Second Team wide receiver.
