The Repco Supercars Championship visited Symmons Plains Raceway in Launceston, Tasmania, on Saturday for the tenth race of the season at the NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint.
Coca-Cola Racing driver Will Brown started the race on the pole with Truck Assist Racing driver Jack Le Brocq starting second. Brown won the start over Le Brocq at turn three to keep the lead. Then, Brodie Kostecki passed Le Brocq for second place.
On the third lap, Cam Waters and Brodie Kostecki collided, causing steering damage to Kostecki that triggered an accident when Broc Feeney spun out Chaz Mostert before getting hit from behind by Scott Pye. Feeney was able to continue the race but Mostert was out. It was Mostert’s first DNF of the season.
Will Brown led every lap before pitting with 21 laps to go. Brown resumed the lead on lap 29 and went on to beat Andre Heimgartner by 0.6856 seconds for his second win of the season.
The rest of the top ten finishers were Shane van Gisbergen third, Cam Waters fourth, Scott Pye fifth, Tim Slade sixth, Jack Le Brocq seventh, Cameron Hill eighth, Nick Percat ninth, and Thomas Randle tenth.
