Houston Gamblers wins their fourth consecutive game over New Jersey

The Houston Gamblers (4-2) took on the New Jersey Generals (2-4) to close out Week 6 of the USFL season on Sunday afternoon from the Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium in Memphis, Tennessee. Coming into this game, the Generals were a 6.5-point favorite.

Houston quarterback Kenji Bahar completed 19 of 29 passes (65.5%) for 130 yards while running back Mark Thompson led the rushers with 22 carries for 82 yards, one touchdown, and four catches for eight yards. Wide receiver Justin Hall led the receivers with six catches for 59 yards.

Kicker Nick Vogel converted three field goals with a long of 38 yards and made one extra point. Houston’s defense allowed 231 yards, with 54 tackles, four tackles for loss, two sacks, one interception, and seven pass breakups.

New Jersey quarterback Kyle Lauletta completed 17 of 30 passes (56.7%) for 177 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and four carries for 24 yards. Running back Darius Victor led the rushers with ten carries for 38 yards, while wide receiver Warren Newman had five catches for 55 yards, and J’Mon Moore had five catches for 44 yards, and one touchdown.

Kicker Nick Sciba converted one field goal for 35 yards and made one extra point. New Jersey’s defense allowed 211 yards, with 64 tackles, three tackles for loss, and four pass breakups.
