Philadelphia Stars bring back defensive back Denzel Williams

The Philadelphia Stars brought back defensive back Denzel Williams and released offensive lineman Blake Camper on Tuesday. Williams was released by the Stars last week.

Denzel Williams is five foot ten and weighs 190 pounds. The 25-year-old from Rocky Point, New York, played one game for the Stars in 2023. Before Philadelphia, Williams attended the Baltimore Ravens training camp. Collegiately, Williams began at Sacred Heart (2016-19) with 35 tackles and six pass breakups in 26 games. Then, Williams transferred to Villanova (2020-21) with 28 tackles, two interceptions, seven pass breakups, and fumble recoveries in 15 games.

Blake Camper is six foot eight and weighs 309 pounds. The 26-year-old from Virginia Beach, Virginia, started in four games playing right tackle. The Stars drafted Camper in the fifth round (39th pick) in the 2022 USFL Draft.

In 2022, Camper started ten of twelve games including two playoff games for the Stars in the North Division Semifinals and the USFL Championship game against the Birmingham Stallions.

Before Philadelphia, Camper was with the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL. He never played a game for the Argonauts. Camper played 40 games in four seasons (2015-18) at South Carolina, of which he started ten games playing right tackle.
