The Montreal Alouettes signed former Memphis offensive lineman Matt Dale on Thursday. Matt Dale is six foot five and weighs 330 pounds.
The 24-year-old from Raymond, Mississippi, started 13 games playing right guard for the Tigers in 2022. He helped Memphis win the 2022 SERVPRO First Responder Bowl. In addition, Memphis’s offensive line helped the Tigers rank 21st in the nation in passing offense (279.2), and 22nd in scoring offense (35.3).
Matt Dale played 37 games in four seasons at Memphis (2019-22) playing right guard for the Tigers. In 2021, he was named Fourth Team All-AAC by Phil Steele after helping Memphis rank 16th in the nation in passing offense (298.8) and 38th in total offense (434.9).
In the 2020 season, Dale was part of an offensive line that helped the Tigers to an 8-3 record, ranking 22nd in the nation in total offense (453.1) and finishing 17th in the country in both passing offense (307.9) and first down offense (260) on their way to winning the 2020 Montgomery Bowl. He played 11 games, of which six were starts at right guard.
Before Memphis, Dale played two seasons at Hinds Community College (2017-18). Dale helped lead the 2017 Bulldogs to a 6-3 record and a Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) playoff berth. In addition, earned the 2017 MACJC All-State South honorable mention, and in 2018 was named to the Second Team MACJC All-State South.
