Ocean City scores three goals in a win over Lehigh Valley United

The Ocean City Nor’easters (2-0) conclude a two-game road trip on Wednesday night at the Rocco Calvo Field against Lehigh Valley United (0-3-1) for the first time this season. The two teams have 15 times, of which Ocean City has won 13 of them.

Ocean City took a 1-0 lead third minute when Sander Roed scored his second goal of the season from outside the box with an assist from Andre Sabino. Then, in the 45th minute, Andrew Kitch scored just before halftime extending Ocean City’s lead to 2-0.

Ocean City led 2-0 at halftime. Ocean City goalkeeper Stefano Caramalengo made his Ocean City debut. He had a clean sheet going into halftime.

In the 51st minute, Sander Roed scored his third goal of the season for a 3-0 lead with an assist by Jamie Davis. Lehigh Valley scored a goal in the 88th minute, snapping Ocean City’s club record shutout streak at 587 minutes. However, with Felix Schafer not playing, his personal shutout streak (also a club record) of 499 minutes remains intact.

The Nor’easters defeated Lehigh Valley United by the final score of 3-1. They extend their regular season unbeaten streak to 17 games, 16 of them on the road. In addition, Ocean City extends its winning streak to six games over Lehigh Valley United.

Ocean City’s next game will be their home opener from Carey Stadium on Friday, May 26th, against the Philadelphia Lone Star FC at 7 pm. Tickets for all Ocean City home games can be purchased at OceanCityFC.com.
