Charlie Gerard is headed to Germany

Charlie Gerard played two seasons with the Reading Royals and Lehigh Valley Phantoms

Former Reading Royals and Lehigh Valley Phantoms forward Charlie Gerard signed with the Nürnberg Ice Tigers (DEL) on Friday. Charlie Gerard is five foot ten and weighs 179 pounds.

The 27-year-old from Rocky River, Ohio, scored 33 goals and 43 assists (76 points) in 62 games for the Reading Royals in the 2022-23 season as an Alternate Captain. In the ECHL playoffs, Gerard scored four and six assists (10 points) in 11 games. In addition, Gerard played six games for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

In the 2021-22 season, Gerard scored six goals and six assists (12 points) in 55 games for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. In addition, Gerard played for the Reading Royals with two goals and two assists (4 points) in eight games.

Gerard wraps up his time playing 61 games for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms with six goals and six assists (12 points), along with 35 goals and 45 assists (80 points) in 80 games, four goals and six assists (10 points) in 11 playoff games for the Reading Royals.

The Nürnberg Ice Tigers play in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga, a German Ice Hockey League since 1980. They are coached by former NHL player and assistant head coach Tom Rowe, who won a Stanley Cup with the Carolina Hurricanes as a coach in 2006.

In addition, Rowe coached the San Antonio Rampage, Portland Pirates, Albany River Rats, Lowell Lock Monsters, and the Florida Panthers. As a player, he played for the Washington Capitals, Detroit Red Wings, and Hartford Whalers.
