The Winnipeg Blue Bombers added offensive lineman Patrick Neufeld to the active roster on Thursday one day after placing him on the suspended list. Patrick Neufeld is six foot six and weighs 307 pounds.

The 34-year-old from Regina, Saskatchewan, played 17 games for the Blue Bombers in 2022 playing right guard. In addition, he helped the Blue Bombers’ offense finish second in points, sacks surrendered, rushing yards, and first in touchdowns, while running back Brady Oliveira posted the first 1,000-yard rushing season of his career.

This will be his eighth season in Winnipeg playing 99 games. The Blue Bombers acquired Neufeld in a trade with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2013 for Alex Hall and a 2014 second-round pick. Neufeld has played in 136 career games.

The Roughriders drafted Neufeld in the fifth round (33rd pick) in the 2010 CFL Draft. He is a two-time CFL All-Star (2021-22), a two-time CFL West All-Star (2021-22), a two-time Grey Cup champion (2019, 2021), and a Cal Murphy ‘Heart of a Legend’ Award.

Collegiately, Neufeld played four seasons at the University of Saskatchewan (2008-11). As a senior, he was named a CIS First Team All-Canadian and Canada West All-Star, after helping the Huskies to the best offensive record in the CIS in 2011. Furthermore, he played in the 2011 East-West Bowl game.
