Houston running back Mark Thompson scored two touchdowns in a win on Saturday over Pittsburgh

The Houston Gamblers (5-3) visited the Pittsburgh Maulers (2-6) on Saturday afternoon from Tom Benson’s Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio.

Coming into this game, both teams were looking to get back on the winning track. Houston lost last week to Memphis, while the Maulers tried to end a two-game losing streak.

Houston running back Mark Thompson had 14 carries for 98 yards, and two touchdowns to help the Gamblers beat the Maulers by the final score of 20-19.

Houston quarterback Kenji Bahar completed 11 of 20 passes (55%) for 146 yards, one touchdown, and six carries for five yards. Wide receiver Justin Hall led the team with three catches for 40 yards, while wide receiver Keke Chism caught two passes for 36 yards, and one touchdown. Kicker Nick Vogel made two of three extra points.

Houston’s defense allowed 326 yards, with 75 tackles, seven tackles for loss, two sacks, one pass breakup, and one forced fumble.

Pittsburgh quarterback Troy Williams completed 20 of 26 passes (76.9%) for 214 yards, seven carries for 36 yards, and one touchdown. Running back Madre London led the rushers with eight carries for 41 yards and wide receiver Bailey Gaither led the receivers with six catches for 70 yards.

Pittsburgh kicker Chris Blewitt converted four of five field goals with a long of 54 yards and made one extra point. Pittsburgh’s defense allowed 266 yards, with 40 tackles, five tackles for loss, two pass breakups, and one forced fumble.
