The B.C. Lions made several moves on Sunday including signing quarterback Chase Brice and wide receiver Josh Pearson to the practice squad along with nine others. In addition, they released ten players.

Chase Brice is six foot three and weighs 235 pounds. The 25-year-old from Grayson, Georgia, attended the Atlanta Falcons and Washington Commanders rookie minicamps.

Collegiately, Brice played two seasons at Clemson (2018-19) completing 12 of 32 passes (62.8%) for 442 yards, five touchdowns, three interceptions, and 16 carries for 115 yards in 12 games for the Tigers, winning the National Championship in 2018.

Then, he transferred to Duke in 2020, completing 193 of 352 passes (55%) for 2,170 yards, ten touchdowns, 15 interceptions, 11 carries for 91 yards, and one touchdown in 11 games for the Blue Devils.

In 2021, he transferred to Appalachian State (2021-22) completing 461 of 739 passes (62%) for 6,258 yards, 54 touchdowns, 17 interceptions, 142 carries for 268 yards, and seven touchdowns in 26 games for the Mountaineers. He was named Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year and Third Team All-Sun Belt in 2021.

Josh Pearson is six foot four and weighs 205 pounds. The 25-year-old from Decatur, Alabama, signed with the Lions as a free agent in January 2022. Pearson played two games with two catches for 73 yards and one touchdown before sustaining a severe knee injury.

Before the Lions, the signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent and played one game against the Chicago Bears. He earned a Super Bowl ring just before his release during training camp.

Collegiately, played three seasons (2017-19) at Jacksonville State with 126 catches for 2,066 yards, 30 touchdowns, and one carry for seven yards in 26 games for the Gamecocks.

In 2018, he led the Gamecocks in receiving yards with 67 catches for 1,123 yards and 17 touchdowns. Pearson was named First Team All-American by the Associated Press.
