The B.C. Lions signed former Saskatchewan Roughriders running back Kienan LaFrance on Monday. Kienan LaFrance is five foot ten and weighs 214 pounds.

The 32-year-old from Winnipeg, Manitoba, was released by the Roughriders on Sunday. In 2022, LaFrance had nine carries for 39 yards, five catches for 28 yards, and four tackles for the Roughriders. This will be LaFrance’s eighth season in the CFL.

The Ottawa Redblacks drafted LaFrance in the sixth round (45th pick) in the 2015 CFL Draft. He played two seasons in Ottawa with 43 carries for 180 yards, 14 catches for 77 yards, one touchdown, and 13 tackles (2 DT, 11 ST) in 32 games for the Redblacks.

In the 2016 East Final, LaFrance rushed for 157 yards and one touchdown. He played a big role in the 104th Grey Cup championship game against the Calgary Stampeders with 11 carries for 42 yards, and six catches for 31 yards as the Redblacks won the Grey Cup.

After Ottawa, LaFrance signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2017. He had 68 carries for 273 yards, two touchdowns, 14 catches for 123 yards, one touchdown, and eight tackles (3 DT, 5 ST) in 13 games.

Then, LaFrance signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2018. He had 36 carries for 137 yards, two touchdowns, eight catches for 64 yards, and two tackles (1 DT, 1 ST) in 16 games.

LaFrance would return to Saskatchewan in 2019 and played three seasons with 18 carries for 91 yards, 13 catches for 97 yards, and 23 tackles on special teams in 43 games.

Before the CFL, LaFrance played two seasons for the Winnipeg Rifles (CFJL). Collegiately, LaFrance played three seasons at the University of Manitoba (2013-14) with 199 carries for 1,237 yards, ten touchdowns, 33 catches for 325 yards, four touchdowns, and six kick returns for 90 yards in 17 games for the Bisons.
