The B.C. Lions released running back Antonio Williams from the practice squad on Tuesday. This comes after the Lions signed Shaun Shivers last Friday.
Antonio Williams is five foot eleven and weighs 215 pounds. The 25-year-old from New London, North Carolina, played two preseason games with 17 carries for 69 yards.
Before the Lions, Williams played two games with the New York Giants before going back to the practice squad. He signed with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent in 2020 and played one game with 12 carries for 63 yards, two touchdowns, and one catch for 20 yards.
Collegiately, Williams played two seasons at Ohio State (2016-17) with 63 carries for 318 yards, three touchdowns, and five catches for 25 yards in 13 games. Then, he transferred to North Carolina (2018-19) with 139 carries for 826 yards, eight touchdowns, 18 catches for 135 yards, and two kick returns for 32 yards in 22 games for the Tar Heels. In the 2019 Military Bowl, Williams had five carries for 16 yards, and two touchdowns in a 55-13 win over Temple.
