The Reading Royals signed forward Austin Master to a one-year contract for the upcoming 2023-24 season. Austin Master is five foot nine and weighs 175 pounds.
The 24-year-old from Broomall, Pennsylvania, earned 30 points (8 goals, 22 assists), and 24 penalty minutes in 23 games for the Mustangs in the 2022-23 season. Master played four seasons at Stevenson University (2019-22) with 87 points (30 goals, 57 assists), and 94 penalty minutes in 74 games for the Mustangs. He is an NCAA III Rookie of the Year in 2019, a Second Team All-Mac (2019), and a First Team All-MAC (2022).
“Austin is a terrific two-way forward with great play-making abilities,” said Head Coach James Henry. “He plays to his strengths and we are excited to add him to our group for the upcoming season. Look for Austin to be one of the hardest-working players for the Royals.”
In addition, Master played for the United States National Team in the 2023 World University Games, earning a silver medal in Lake Placid, New York, in January. He earned five points (3 goals, 2 assists) and six penalty minutes in seven games.
Master has played for the Jersey Hitmen (USPHL Premier) from 2018-19, Philadelphia Little Flyers (EHL) from 2018-19, Philadelphia Jr. Flyers 16U AAA in 2015, and 18U AAA clubs (2015-17).
