The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed wide receiver Jerreth Sterns on Monday.
Jerreth Sterns is five foot nine and weighs 195 pounds. The 24-year-old from Waxahachie, Texas, signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2022. Later, he signed with the Los Angeles Rams and was placed on the practice squad. He was released by the Rams on March 23, 2023.
Collegiately, Sterns began at Houston Baptist University (2018-20) with 220 catches for 1,971 yards, 73 receiving yards per game, 18 touchdowns, 23 carries for 56 yards, two touchdowns, and 31 punt returns for 177 yards in 27 games for the Huskies. He also took snaps at quarterback completing 4 of 7 passes (57%) for 110 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.
He was named Third Team All-Southland Conference, Southland Conference All-Academic Honors in 2019, and All-Southland Conference Honorable Mention in 2018.
After Houston Baptist, Sterns transferred to Western Kentucky in 2021 with 150 catches for 1,902 yards, 135.9 receiving yards per game, 17 touchdowns, five carries for 17 yards, and 13 punt returns for 70 yards in 14 games for the Hilltoppers. He was named First Team All-CUSA, and Newcomer of the Year.
