The Dallas Cowboys signed former Birmingham Stallions kicker Brandon Aubrey on Thursday. Brandon Aubrey is six foot three and weighs 208 pounds. The Stallions released Aubrey on July 3, 2023, after signing with the Cowboys.
The 28-year-old from Plano, Texas, converted 14 of 15 field goals (93.3%) with a long of 49 yards and was a perfect 35-35 in extra points made in ten regular season games in 2023. In the postseason, he made two field goals (100%) with a long of 41 yards and converted 9 of 10 extra points in the playoffs.
Brandon Aubrey was drafted by the Stallions in the 32nd round (260th pick) in the 2022 USFL Draft. He played 20 regular season games for the Stallions converting 32 of 37 field goals (86.5%) with a long of 49 yards, and converted 57 of 59 extra points. He was named the All-USFL team following the 2022 season.
In the postseason, Aubrey played four games making five of seven field goals (71.4%) with a long of 42 yards and converted 16 of 18 extra points to help the Stallions win two USFL Championships over the Philadelphia Stars and the Pittsburgh Maulers.
Aubrey’s journey to pro football started when he played soccer at the University of Notre Dame (2013-16) where he earned 34 points (15 goals, four assists) on 73 shots, 36 shots on goals, five game-winning goals, and three penalty kick shots in 76 games, of which 63 were starts for the Fighting Irish. He was named NSCAA Third Team All-American, NSCAA First Team All-South Region, First Team All-ACC, and NSCAA Academic All-American.
Aubrey was drafted by Toronto FC in the first round (21st pick) in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft. He made his professional debut on March 25, 2017, for Toronto FC II in the United Soccer League against Phoenix Rising FC.
After he was released by Toronto following the 2017 season, Aubrey signed with Bethlehem Steel FC in 2018. He played 27 games, of which 26 were starts with the Steel with seven yellow cards and one red card. Bethlehem released him following the 2018 season.
