Hamilton Tiger-Cats make two moves including signing fullback Myles Manalo

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed fullback Myles Manalo and released wide receiver Lio’Undre Gallimore on Thursday.

Myles Manalo is six foot two and weighs 230 pounds. The 24-year-old from Burlington, Ontario, was released by the Ticats on June 15, 2023. Manalo had signed a contract extension with Hamilton in January. He played nine games for the Ticats last season with no stats.

The Ticats drafted Manalo in the sixth round (54th pick) in the 2021 CFL Draft. In his rookie year, Manalo played three games for the Ticats in 2021. This will be Manalo’s third season in Hamilton.

Collegiately, Manalo played two seasons at the University of Western Ontario (2017, 2019) as a linebacker with 70 tackles (28 solo, 42 assists), 6.5 tackles for loss, one interception, three pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 21 games for the Mustangs. In his final season, Manalo made 60 tackles, one interception, three pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in ten games.

Lio’Undre Gallimore is five foot ten and weighs 171 pounds. The 24-year-old from Miami Gardens, Florida, was on the Ticats practice squad. Before Hamilton, Gallimore went undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft and attended rookie mini-camp with the Atlanta Falcons.

Collegiately, Gallimore played four seasons at Valdosta State (2017-19, 2021) with 145 catches for 2,808 yards, 31 touchdowns, 18 kick returns for 481 yards, one touchdown, and 2.5 tackles in 44 games for the Blazers.

In his senior year, Gallimore caught 58 passes for 1,123 yards, 15 touchdowns, 12 kick returns for 366 yards, and one touchdown in 14 games. In 2018, he was named First-Team All-Conference and in 2019 was named Second-Team All-Conference.
