The Hamilton Tiger-Cats released running back Ryth-Jean Giraud on Wednesday. Ryth-Jean Giraud is five foot eleven and weighs 216 pounds.
The 26-year-old from Montreal, Quebec, signed with the Ticats on June 5, 2023, after spending training camp for the Calgary Stampeders. He played two preseason games with seven carries for 49 yards, one touchdown, and four catches for 54 yards. The Stampeders signed him as a free agent in December 2022.
Before Calgary, played safety at Lincoln University (CA) in the 2022 season with 21 tackles, two forced fumbles, and two interceptions in eight games for the Oaklanders.
Ryth-Jean Giraud played three seasons at the University of Montreal (2018-19, 2021) as a running back with 142 carries for 823 yards, five touchdowns, 35 catches for 394 yards, two touchdowns, and nine kick returns for 1,410 yards in 17 games for the Carabins.
The Montreal Alouettes drafted Giraud in the fifth round (42nd pick) in the 2022 CFL Draft. He played two preseason games with one carry for two yards, one touchdown, one punt return for six yards, one kick return for 21 yards, and two defensive tackles.
