The New Jersey Generals signed running back Kingston Davis, tight end Wes Saxton, offensive linemen Calvin Ashley and Isaiah Battle, and defensive back Dravon Askew-Henry on Tuesday.
Kingston Davis is six foot and weighs 225 pounds. The 25-year-old from Prattville, Alabama, had 21 carries for 89 yards, and six catches for 51 yards in five games for the Generals in 2023. He signed with the Generals as a free agent in 2022 and played two games in his first season.
Collegiately, Davis played three games at the University of Michigan in 2016 with two carries for 17 yards in three games for the Wolverines. Then, he transferred to Independence Community College in 2017 with 20 carries for 37 yards, and one catch for 14 yards in seven games for the Pirates.
In 2018, he went to UAB with 22 carries for 88 yards, and two touchdowns in three games for the Blazers. After UAB, he transferred to Lane College with 153 carries for 669 yards, three touchdowns, 14 catches for 127 yards, and one touchdown in ten games for the Dragons.
In 2021, he went to Miles College with 128 carries for 721 yards, six touchdowns, six catches for 102 yards, and one kick return for 21 yards in ten games for the Golden Bears.
Wes Saxton is six foot four and weighs 240 pounds. The 29-year-old from Birmingham, Alabama, caught six passes for 70 yards in ten games, of which six were starts for the Generals in 2023. The Generals signed him as a free agent on April 19, 2022. In his first season, Saxton caught two passes for 13 yards in nine games, of which two were starts.
Before New Jersey, he signed with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2015. He played one game in two seasons for the Jets. After the Jets, he was with the Washington Redskins, Buffalo Bills, Detroit Lions, San Francisco 49ers, and the Seattle Seahawks.
In 2019, he played six games for the Birmingham Iron (AAF) with 17 catches for 241 yards and one touchdown before the league folded. A year later, he was drafted by the St. Louis Battlehawks (XFL) in the fifth round (38th pick) in the 2020 XFL Draft. He played five games making three catches for 16 yards.
Collegiately, Sexton played three seasons at South Alabama (2012-14) with 96 catches for 1,126 yards and one touchdown in 37 games for the Jaguars.
Calvin Ashley is six foot six and weighs 310 pounds. The 25-year-old from Orlando, Florida, played nine games at right guard for the Generals in 2023. He was named to the All-USFL Team. The Generals drafted him in the sixth round (45th pick) in the 2022 USFL Draft. He played three games for the Generals in 2022.
Collegiately, Ashley played five games in two seasons at Auburn University (2017-18) and one season at Florida A&M in 2019 playing seven games for the Rattlers.
Isaiah Battle is six foot seven and weighs 310 pounds. The 30-year-old from Brooklyn, New York, played five games, of which four were starts at tackle for the Generals in 2023. The Pittsburgh Maulers drafted Battle in the sixth round (50th pick) in the 2022 USFL Draft. He did not play for the Maulers in 2022.
Before New Jersey, Battle was drafted by the St. Louis Rams in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Supplemental Draft. He never played a game for the Rams. He later had stints with the Kansas City Chiefs, Seattle Seahawks, and Carolina Panthers. In 2020, he played two games for the Seattle Dragons (XFL). Collegiately, Battle played 27 games in three seasons at Clemson (2012-14), of which 15 were starts for the Tigers.
Dravon Askew-Henry is six foot and weighs 203 pounds. The 27-year-old from Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, made 30 tackles (23 solo, 7 assists), and two tackles for loss in ten games for the Generals in 2023.
The Generals drafted Askew-Henry in the 19th round (154th pick) in the 2022 USFL Draft. In his first season, Askew-Henry had 39 tackles (28 solo, 11 assists), and two interceptions in ten games with the Generals.
Before New Jersey, Askew-Henry signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent in 2019. He also had stints with the New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars. In 2020, he played for the New York Guardians (XFL) with 12 tackles (10 solo, 2 assist) in five games, of which three were starts.
Collegiately, Askew-Henry played five seasons at West Virginia (2013-18) with 215 tackles (162 solo, 53 assists), 14 tackles for loss, six interceptions, and one touchdown in 50 games for the Mountaineers. He was a two-time Big 12 Conference Honorable Mention.
