The Ocean City Nor’easters took on the Hudson Valley Hammers in their first-ever meeting on Sunday afternoon from the Mitchell Athletic Complex in Uniondale, New York, in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Ocean City took a 1-0 lead in the 39th minute when Nick Pariano converted a penalty kick. Ocean City led 1-0 at halftime. In the second half, Hudson Valley tied the game 1-1 in the 54th minute when Alex Zielonka rifled the ball into the back of the net for the goal.
In stoppage time, Hudson Valley committed another penalty which resulted in a penalty kick taken by Nick Pariano. Pariano successfully made the penalty kick for a 2-0 lead.
Ocean City went on to beat Hudson Valley by the final score of 2-0. They advance to the Eastern Conference Finals for the third time in franchise history.
The Nor’easters will play Lionsbridge FC in the Eastern Conference Finals next Friday.
