The Hamilton Tiger-Cats released offensive lineman Alex Fontana on Monday.

Alex Fontana is six foot two and weighs 300 pounds. The 28-year-old from Toronto, Ontario, was released by the Ticats on May 9th and later re-signed with Hamilton on May 22, 2023. Fontana played seven games for the Ticats in 2022. Before Hamilton, the Ottawa Redblacks selected him in the first round (7th pick) in the 2019 CFL Draft.

He played 18 games for the Redblacks as a backup in his rookie season. Collegiately, Fontana played 27 games in four seasons at Kansas (2018), Houston (2016-17), and the New Mexico Military Institute (2014-15).
