The Lehigh Valley Phantoms re-signed goalie Nolan Maier to a one-year contract for the 2023-24 season on Thursday. This will be Maier’s second season in Lehigh Valley. Nolan Maier is six foot and weighs 172 pounds.
The 22-year-old from Yorkton, Saskatchewan, went 5-2-2 with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms last year with a 2.85 GAA, and a .886 save percentage in nine games. In addition, Maier played one playoff game with a 4.90 GAA and a .818 save percentage.
Nolan Maier also spent time with the Reading Royals with a 12-8-3 record, a 2.89 GAA, and a .892 save percentage in 24 games. In the ECHL playoffs, Maier went 0-1, allowing 6.10 GAA, and a .850 save percentage in one playoff game.
Before Lehigh Valley, Maier played five seasons in the WHL for the Saskatoon Blades (2017-22) with a 122-72-18 record, a 2.89 GAA, a .905 SV%, and 12 shutouts in 216 games. Maier is the all-time wins leader in WHL history. In addition, Maier is 7-7-1, with a 3.27 GAA and a .897 SV% in 15 playoff games.
Along with the WHL, Maier played two seasons for the Yorkton Terriers (SJHL) with a 1-6-1 record, a 5.14 GAA, and a .895 SV% in eight games. In 2019, Maier played for Canada’s U18 team with a 2-1 record, a 2.67 GAA, and a .926 GAA in three games. In addition, Maier won the Hlinka Gretzky Cup Gold Medal in 2019 with a 3.12 GAA and a .872 in four games.
