The Lehigh Valley Phantoms signed defenseman Koltrane Wilson and Darren Brady on Thursday.
Koltrane Wilson is six foot two and weighs 209 pounds. The 23-year-old from Edmonton, Alberta, scored one goal for the Rockford IceHogs (AHL) in three games while earning eight points (1 goal, 8 assists), and 66 penalty minutes for the Indy Fuel (ECHL) last year. In addition, he had two penalty minutes in four ECHL playoff games.
Wilson played three seasons in the AJHL for the Spruce Grove Saints and Sherwood Park Crusaders with 13 points (1 goal, 12 assists), and 29 penalty minutes in 55 games. Furthermore, he scored one goal in two playoff games.
Then, Wilson was drafted by the Lethbridge Hurricanes in the fourth round (84th pick) in the 2014 WHL Draft. He played four seasons for the Hurricanes with 63 points (11 goals, 52 assists), and 233 penalty minutes in 190 games. In addition, he had three assists and 12 penalty minutes in 26 WHL playoff games.
Wilson played three seasons in the ECHL for the Kansas City Mavericks and Indy Fuel with 29 points (1 goal, 28 assists), and 145 penalty minutes in 105 games. In addition, he had two penalty minutes in four ECHL playoff games. In the AHL, Wilson played four seasons for the Stockton Heat and Rockford IceHogs with one goal in nine games.
Darren Brady is six foot and weighs 198 pounds. The 27-year-old from Lake Orion, Michigan, earned three assists in 12 games for the Idaho Steelheads (ECHL) and had nine points (3 goals, 6 assists), and 33 penalty minutes with the San Jose Barracuda (AHL) last season.
Brady played three seasons in the NAHL for the Soo Eagles and New Jersey Junior Titans with 69 points (13 goals, 56 assists), and 98 penalty minutes in 170 games. In addition, he earned four points (1 goal, 3 assists), and six penalty minutes in ten games. He was named NAHL All-East Division Team in the 2015-16 season.
Then, Brady played four seasons at R.I.T. (Rochester Institute of Technology) collecting 36 points (10 goals, 26 assists), and 52 penalty minutes in 135 games for the Tigers. He served as the Tigers captain in the final season at R.I.T.
Next, played eight games for the Macon Mayhem (SPHL) with two assists, and two penalty minutes. Brady played three seasons in the ECHL for the Rapid City Rush and Idaho Steelheads with 37 points (7 goals, 30 assists), and 43 penalty minutes in 95 games.
In the AHL, Brady played two seasons for the Abbotsford Canucks and San Jose Barracuda with nine points (3 goals, 6 assists), and 33 penalty minutes in 52 games.
