The Calgary Stampeders released defensive back Demetri Royer from the practice squad on Wednesday. Demetri Royer is five foot eleven and weighs 193 pounds.

The 26-year-old from Clearwater, Florida, was on the six-game injured list before being placed on the practice squad. The Stampeders drafted Royer in the third round (25th pick) of the 2022 CFL Draft. He did not play in 2022 due to an injury.

Collegiately, Royer played three seasons at Charleston Southern University (2015-17) with 77 tackles (35 solo, 42 assists), one tackle for loss, two pass breakups, and one forced fumble in ten games for the Buccaneers.

Then, Royer transferred to Western Illinois (2018-19) with 74 tackles (41 solo, 33 assists), half a tackle for loss, five pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 12 games for the Leathernecks.
